I spent 4 years as a STEM student in high school studying Environmental Architecture and Engineering. As I took on leadership roles in designing and publicizing events, I found that my interests aligned more with design. I bring a unique perspective to my work that combines creativity and technical expertise.
I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June 2022 with a BFA in Art and Design with a concentration in Graphic Design. It's never felt right to put myself into one designer category since I love exploring all sorts of design! In college, I took on projects focussed on 3D modeling, motion graphics, and UI/UX design. I love challenging myself with design projects.
I currently work at Avenda Health as a Designer working on UI/UX for our treatment and planning devices. I also take on graphic and visual design for our marketing needs. I create compelling visual designs and prototypes that are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and aligned with our company's brand identity. I collaborate cross-functionally to ensure designs are technically feasible, safe, and effective for our clinicians to use.
Even though I'm a Junior designer, I love helping guide baby designers and students through the expansive design world with mentorship and full transparency. I was in various design education clubs in college that helped make design accessible and approachable to all majors and skill sets. I hate the gatekeeping of design resources! I'm passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment to encourage learning. There's strength needed in helping the community and giving back so I love paying it forward!
I don't believe in measurements when cooking. I love documenting my recipes on @allyateit
I started reading more in 2022! I love reading memoirs, humorous fiction, and books that have an unlikable main character.
I used to hate the idea of running, but I've learned to love it. One of my goals is to run a marathon!
